Built on a Legacy of Science and Results
Founded in 1984, CSE was among the first firms to unite coastal geology, engineering, and environmental science into a single, data-driven practice. What began with sediment samples and field notebooks evolved into nationally recognized nourishment projects that helped set industry standards for shoreline restoration and permitting.
Over four decades, CSE has completed more than 50 beach nourishment projects, placing over 42 million cubic yards of sand and protecting 85+ miles of shoreline and more than $15 billion in property. From Nags Head’s landmark project to award-winning restorations across the Southeast, the firm’s work has consistently delivered measurable, lasting results.
